William Joyce, the infamous Nazi propagandist known as Lord Haw Haw, turned out to be immune to charges of treason because he was not technically a British subject when he made his pro-Nazi broadcasts. He was convicted instead of making a false statement when applying for a passport.
I wonder if Cheetolini sees the parallel.
Please,
May I ask that you take a few moments to read my statement of today & the #poem I wrote in 2017 about the historical importance of this day June 6th in 1944
Called “D Day” it was the true birth of an alliance now known as NATO, which stands as the most power defender of democracies across the globe
It was this day, we collectively stood against totalitarianism
May the heroes of this day be remembered, forever

Walking under pines on Capitol Way in downtown Olympia, hearing the strangest sound -- a continuous chatter like the rattle of cables under some streets in San Francisco, but also like a sound that living creatures might make -- my spouse said, Look up, there are nests up there. Egrets? Cormorants? No, great blue herons. At least half a dozen nests. A few blocks from city hall.
Happy Pride y'all!
Olympia had a little celebration of its rainbow-flag crosswalks with speeches from the mayor, who is a gay black veteran, and community members.
It joins Olympia's African Heritage and Trans Pride crosswalks. The city manager says more are in the works.

Pretty good way to say "Whose streets? Our streets!"

Let's all take a moment to notice, that we have this place, and we value it. May I suggest that we support it continuing.

Hey CoSoFam,
We are closing in on the end of the month and J needs our help!
Can we sprint hard in these last few days and get to 50% funded by us? Can we meet him halfway?
For those of you who can--please contribute through the many options available.
Please let's keep our online home, our well-protected place of security and innovation. It's up to us, together.

We've been lucky in my family: several enlistees but no casualties. I think none of them saw actual combat, just training and rear-echelon stuff.
But my uncle Bob joined the Merchant Marine, because they weren't as picky about age as the Navy was, and wound up on a floating warehouse in the Philippines. He came home OK, fortunately.
Both he and my dad signed up out of WWII patriotism, and maybe partly because home life was not so good. There's never just one reason.
I love it when judges troll each other. Here, Elena Kagan trolls Sam Alito.

That's a new one: blue-headed grosbeak at the feeder. Though they're sufficiently similar to rufous-sided towhees that I think I may have seen one before and misidentified it.
He's not shy, at any rate, or maybe he's tired. He's sitting in the feeder like he owns it. And given his size relative to the usual juncos and chickadees, he effectively does.
