@sentientdessert OK, but isn't it a rule of French grammar that if you come from more than 50 miles away your French is terrible?
I'm told that people need reasons to vote FOR Kamala Harris rather than AGAINST Donolf. OK, I'll do my best.
1. Harris has more than three functioning brain cells.
2. Harris probably lies now and then, like any politician, but she knows when she's doing it because she's not demented.
3. Harris is not a fucking racist.
4. Harris is not an adjudicated rapist.
5. Harris understands that a "concept of a plan" is not a plan.
How am I doing so far?

@ToolPackinMama There's a sizable cohort that grew up with cars spewing lead into the the air. The same cohort has reached an age where the usual cognitive decline has been going on for at least ten years. So much for the voters.
For GOP candidates, if you plot a line from Nixon through Reagan to Trump, the trend is unquestionable.
@Museek Under a secret treaty that dates back to the end of the Civil War, the Democrats are allowed to use hurricanes and the Republicans are allowed to use earthquakes.
@Cosmichomicide This is going to happen more and more as people build and tie down stuff to current standards in order to satisfy inspectors and insurance companies -- only to learn the hard way that pre-Helene standards are now too lax.
@b2bjacks I woke up thinking about comfort, specifically the comfort of voting for the same old thing, i.e., an old white man, rather than something different, i.e., a middle-aged brown woman. Voters who haven't been paying attention -- i.e., most of them -- will be strongly influenced by that. Harris is going to need every nickel of that $1B. And if she weren't running against a demented old idiot she wouldn't have a prayer. Which I know says nothing good about the US.
@estherschindler And if you did vote, you can still support this noble effort and get some cards at apologize.lol.
Didn't vote in 2020? Cards Against Humanity will pay you to apologize. https://www.apologize.lol
elon musk is a sleazy con man. His "free" Starlink con is a total rip off. The receiver costs $400 and will take 2-3 weeks to arrive, which- if you've got electricity- you'll only have a week or 2 before you have to pay $120 per month.
there's nothing worse than a billionaire taking advantage of people in peril.
nothing.
@Cosmichomicide I don't give money to people who want help doing something idiotic. Let them follow my example: when I do something idiotic, I do it on my own!
@Cosmichomicide Seriously? The day God said "Hold up there, no bullets in that nasty 78-year-old narcissist, put them in this firefighter shielding his family instead"?
The only way that makes sense is if God really hates Trump and his family and wants them all to go through every day of his dementia.
It could happen to worse people, but I think the Almighty would be going too far there myself.
@mcfate We wouldn't even HAVE hurricanes now if the Deep State hadn't stopped him from nuking Hurricane Maria.
@redenigma First time MAD's made me cry rather than laugh.
@Tetcny So he's not calling for a tariff on Bibles, then.
@piquant00 Either that sign is wrong or Wyoming is setting a new global record. The lowest temperature ever recorded on earth is -128.6β° F at Vostok Station, Antarctica. Another thermometer at the end of the article shows -23β° C, which is more credible, about -9β° F).
@DavidSalo @Museek This is criminally negligent. If Amazon doesn't want the responsibility of passing on emergency notifications, they should at least have Alexa read off a disclaimer telling people to look for them somewhere else.
@Opusworks Those who say the two parties are the same overlook the faction that doesn't care what party it's in as long as it can keep people from voting -- the oligarchy faction. From the beginning it's tried to restrict voting to white men with property. Everyone else has had to fight for their voting rights.
That faction controlled the Democratic party till the mid-20th century. Now it controls the GOP. That's not the only difference between the parties, but it's a crucial one.
@peeppeepcircus I don't think so, I've been voting for 50 years and it hasn't turned me gay yet. But what the heck, maybe it'll work this time.
Grew up in Cupertino before Apple, lived in Berkeley, now retired in South Puget Sound. Pronouns he/him.
