I'm told that people need reasons to vote FOR Kamala Harris rather than AGAINST Donolf. OK, I'll do my best.

1. Harris has more than three functioning brain cells.
2. Harris probably lies now and then, like any politician, but she knows when she's doing it because she's not demented.
3. Harris is not a fucking racist.
4. Harris is not an adjudicated rapist.
5. Harris understands that a "concept of a plan" is not a plan.

How am I doing so far?

"The top pollster also found that Americans tend to favor the Republicans on top issues, including the economy...." (from a Newsweek story, but this link goes straight to the source, Gallup.)

Good God, have people forgotten 2008?

And how is it that Gallup's report doesn't mention abortion rights? Ten states are voting on that this year (yeah, I always love it when people's rights come up for a vote).

"No, I'm not selling [my DJT stock]," Trump said.... "I'm not leaving. I love it. I think it's great."

Translation: He's selling it as soon as he can.

He couldn't come up with anything new for a closing statement?

I can't believe he's going to have to take another hour of this.

He's been practicing saying "Venezuela," it shows. Great job!

Donolf looks tired. He's barely moving. Kamala is animated and assertive.

"Trump abortion bans" -- good rhetoric from Kamala.

"while other states were banning books from their schools, we were banishing hunger from ours."--Tim Walz

Walz is brilliant -- not quite sure whether as a candidate or as a carefully crafted product -- but brilliant.

Color me surprised: we might actually get a two-party contest for governor in November. I didn't think Republican Dave Reichert had a chance, shows what I know.
I'm glad (I think), because a moderate Democrat would be harder for Bob Ferguson to beat (I think). Also because the moderate Dem that Ferguson might face is, IMHO, just a Libertarian masquerading as a Dem. Also, if a not-so-MAGA Repub wins in the primary, maybe the WA GOP will get a clue. (*Maybe.*)

Kamala's running mate will be:

Washington is absolutely bonkers in some ways. There are 28 people running for governor -- at least four times as many as for any other office, though there's a candidate for US Senate who calls himself "Goodspaceguy" and that's got to count for something.
I'll call it today: the two who go on to the general will be Bob Ferguson and Mark Mullet, both Democrats (though the latter is really a libertarian).

Oil & mining companies are crying because the Biden administration slapped maximum protection on 13 million acres of the National Petroleum Reserve - Alaska, and told the miners they couldn't build 211 miles of road through it.
Alaska GOP Senator Dan Sullivan says the best way to reverse these decisions is to put Congress and the White House back in Republican hands.
Noted, Senator.

Just learned that the Democrats are considered to have a slim chance of keeping the Senate this fall. We won't miss Manchin and Sinema themselves, but if the Rethuglicans get control it's going to be ugly for the environment and the economy. They're bad enough in the House.
