HiPOD: A View of Polar Dunes

This image was acquired to study interactions between active sand dunes and polar ice. As the dunes migrate (towards the lower right of the full image), they leave behind bright regions where dust has been removed from the polar ice. Bits of very bright seasonal frost are present on the sides of the dunes.

HiPOD: Drainage Divide Migration in Tyrrhena Terra

A profiling method can determine the history of drainage migration in bedrock-erosion landscapes, but only with high-resolution terrain models as input. HiRISE stereo was requested as Context Camera digital terrain model resolution would likely not be adequate for this purpose.
