I ought to make a list of the pagan folks here so we can connect folks looking for like minded to follow or talk to.

Aw, @Heucuva8 kept track. How nice.

Just a reminder, I'm actually ATHEOpagan: I don't actually believe in the supernatural stuff, but I find the community and observation of natural cycles and phenomena to be worthwhile inclusions in my life.

Have a lovely Midautumn, frens.

@PaganMother

@LaMarghe

Yeah, I won't pretend, which offends some ppl, so I warn them ahead of time. That way, if they plan to do a β€œmagic” rite or w/e, they'll know not to count on my doing things like β€œcalling spirits” or waving a stick about.

I have no problem reciting well-written verses, or even symbolic acts, it's just that for me it's entirely about our experience as individuals, & a collective, recognizing our place w/in the cycles of nature.

Plus, hey there also feminamoric person πŸ™‚

@FernLovebond it gets weird having to explain how an atheist ( which I am) can nonetheless believe in a number of things that border on pagan, so I get where you're coming from. Nature, from the infinitely small to the mindbogglingly big, has nothing to do with any deity, as far as I am concerned.

Howdy! πŸ™‚ I discovered the term feminamoric very recently, and was delighted to adopt it. It's shorter than "agender lesbian" ( by a hair, really πŸ˜…).

@LaMarghe

Aye, with you on the whole thing, atheist/pagan wise.

Also, yeah, I also kind of like trixic, but I guess that's more specifically nonbinary <3 feminine, but... I dunno. Feminamoric works a treat. And now I'll add you to my list of GSRM, too.

@FernLovebond I like the sound of Trixic, but it specifies that the attraction to women can be nonexclusive, and I only like women, so I figured feminamoric would be the better option. πŸ˜…

@LaMarghe Ah, I guess I hadn't realized.

Yeah, I think we're not only on the same page, were' in the same paragraph.

@FernLovebond @Heucuva8 @PaganMother

This; and now I know what to call myself, thank you.
I too do not believe in anything supernatural. But I care for and give thanks to nature.
After all we are a part of it, it is the reason we exist and it will still be here when we are but distant memories.
I've always liked belief systems that attribute spirituality to nature.
I have an easier time believing that over other man made deities.

Question: What then would be the opposite of this? What would you call it? If you believe in the Supernatural stuff, but not the Spirituality? πŸ€”

Makes me curious.

@Booga @FernLovebond @PaganMother

@PaganMother @Heucuva8 @Booga

Uh... I guess I'd call it... fractionally less credulous?

I don't mean to be rude but the distinction between believing in supernatural stuff of one sort & not another isn't really a namable distinction to me, at least not in this case. Without knowing where you draw your lines of belief explicitly, I can't say if I'd call it "Witchcraft" or "Wicca" or "NeoPagan" or "Folk Heathenism" or whatever.

It's a little like "I believe in Christianity but not Islam." 🀷

@FernLovebond @PaganMother @Heucuva8

^^^This.
I knew somebody would have a better way of explaining than me.

@Heucuva8 @FernLovebond @PaganMother
That's a great question and one I probably don't have a defining answer for.

Blind faith, isn't right. Unquestioning belief?
What I wonder about is those who only believe in a particular supernatural phenomenon.
"Oh yes, ghosts are totally real, I am sure I saw one once; or at least felt its presence Unicorns on the other hand are just made up."

O.o

I feel like a lot of people fall into that category. It seems like selective credulity is pretty common, throughout history.

@Booga @FernLovebond @PaganMother @Thumprhare

@Booga @FernLovebond @Heucuva8 @PaganMother So I was just eavesdropping on this convo via my friend feed… and ☝️ this right here for me, as well as @FernLovebond ’s post are πŸ’―. Raised Catholic but grew up interested in world belief systems, their stories, and the occult, finally figured out I’m atheist a while ago but not against others’ (non-impinging) beliefs, with a pull towards the amazing core awe of the natural world and its systems… The phrase that came to my mind was β€œpagan-adjacent” 😊

Of course I did. 😁 It's certainly a unique perspective on the concept of Paganism. I like to facilitate connections between people. and helps me do that, along with keeping track of things like this. πŸ₯°

Strangely enough, I keep track of a LOT of things that people in my orbit aren't aware of. πŸ€”

@FernLovebond @PaganMother

Nah, you're special. I love all my . What matters is things like remembering you. πŸ«‚
