I will probably make a few people mad at me for saying that I fully support the decision by SCOTUS to end affirmative action for colleges and to allow service providers to refuse service if goes against their values!

Affirmative action for universities began in 2003 and in these 20 years it certainly helped many minority candidates access higher education!

But it was time to end it and base their acceptance on academic merit rather than skin color!

May the best candidate win!😜

@Helveticus If the best would win then there’d be no problem. We know that’s not what happens. It’s always been about equity. I’m certainly not mad, but I disagree.

@Helveticus I mean, as white people who directly benefit from systemic racism, I think this is a take that looks terrible. And in no way is it acceptable to just decide to refuse service based on a fictional scenario that never happened. Until discrimination affects you directly, I suspect this will be your stance. You’re entitled to it I suppose. I just wouldn’t announce it.

@SaltyVeruca There you go, I fully accept that you disagree but that will not change my firm belief in personal freedom to decide according to my values!

After all, Restaurants can easily refuse service if you are not properly dressed and nobody finds that discriminatory!

It is called private service and the owner should decide who to give service to, just as you don't just let anybody enter your house, your car, and even your business !😍
