@Helveticus No problem. I think the reason was to limit getting message bombed by trolls and/or bots. Free accounts on Twitter for example can DM with reckless abandoned. Here? Trolls would have to pay.
I tend to agree with you but It's a shame that human nature leads to policies like this having to be a thing. but if a thing can exploited; people will rush to exploit it.
