#psychology If a kid is capable of killing small animals or pets, beware!
He could well develop into a cold-blooded killer!
These individuals are incapable of empathy!
Make sure you take him to a specialist as soon as you notice such behaviors!
@Helveticus Don't police detectives refer to this stuff as a "yellow" in a suspect's record?
@NotTheFakeNate I have no idea but perhaps we have cops amongst us who could give us the answer!
what you're alluding to is the Macdonald triad. this theory states that the exhibition of at least two of the three events is a predictor of violence, particularly when it comes to repeated/serial crimes.
- cruelty to animals
- bedwetting
- fixation on arson/firesetting
the animal thing specifically is also called "zoosadism".
@silent_dystopia @Helveticus Thanks! I have watched WAAAY too much "Law and Order: Criminal Intent" for my own good!
@NotTheFakeNate @Helveticus
I double majored in forensic chemistry, one of my classes was taught by an ex-FBI profiler who worked for the Behavorial Analysis Unit. some real eye opening shit there.
@silent_dystopia @NotTheFakeNate I am sure that was an eye-opener and I would enjoy, as a psychologist, knowing more of your experience!
@silent_dystopia @NotTheFakeNate I can understand the emotional trauma when profilers are faced with the worst depravity known to mankind, especially when it involves children. Some people do not deserve to live amongst us!
I appreciate your comments in this case!
