I saw some say that Kamala's DNC speech wasn't very good and that they didn't feel enthused or excited. So I re-listened.
Her speech wasn't from the pulpit. It didn't fire you up. It wasn't meant to.
This was a speech of solidarity, unification, and stability. It patiently showed why she is what is needed right now - structure and focus. It was calm reassurance that the upheaval is behind us and we can focus on what's ahead.
It was strength and patient determination. Exactly what was needed.
@Graci
When the media is trying to push their fire and brimstone ...
Normalcy seems tame by comparison... 🤷🏻♂️
@Graci What I saw/heard was that her speech had full sentences, real content, no made up words and zero hate. Contrast that with the alternative and vote accordingly.
Ignore it. They were going to look for something negative regardless. They're the same people who said "But her emails..."
@Sr0bi These were Dems that I know. I just believe their expectations were not realistic and therefore they set themselves up for disappointment.
@Graci @Sr0bi This wasn’t a preacher preaching to their choir. Instead, this was a prosecutor laying out the facts to convince the jury how to vote. It was a fine speech, it was just a different style. She made the case clearly and covered all the points. In a court, he’d be sent up the river for a long time after that delivery.
And yes, we’ve been spoiled by Barack and Michelle Obama both, and frankly more by Michelle.
@Graci the speech was delivered like a court room summation. You have to use what you are most comfortable with.
All stuff, no fluff. I'm in!
@Graci I've had it with people who view a candidate's 'performance'! They're public servants NOT entertainers!
