@hootenanny I feel like there's more to this story and we should hear it.

@GrandmaJ we made it through the night without doggie mischief! Nice of the fur terrorists to give us a break once in awhile. I hope you have a wonderful day :)

@JoyfullyDazed LOL better to get it into the beds and out of the greenhouse...it's stinking up the place! There's a book in my afternoon plans as well.

@iamwill1w9 Oh bummer! but they'll recover in time right? I seem to remember my mom's rose bushes being pretty hardy. I'm glad you made it through ok! We got largely missed...a couple of rounds of quick downpours and some gusty winds and it was over. I'm not complaining.

@XanHart Progress! or at least recovery to the original position, which is a good thing. Sending all the cat-courage I can her way. She will make it down.

Good morning lovelies. I hope everyone made it through yesterday's storms without too much damage. Going to be a relatively cool and cloudy day according to the weather channel although the sun is shining at the moment. I think I'll spend the some time today mixing chicken 💩 fertilizer into the garden beds.

@iamwill1w9 Will I saw you lost power yesterday. Are you doing ok this morning? Did your plants make it through ok?

@iamwill1w9 I'm in the same boat Will and I was going to do just that. 5 gallon buckets with heavy rocks on top to protect my tiny plants against the high winds and possible hail.

@GrandmaJ Thank you! yesterday was incredibly productive so I think I can relax today. Happy Friday!

It's Friday and I actually slept in, which almost never happens! Drizzling rain already so I'm glad I got the gardening done yesterday. Threat of severe weather this afternoon, hoping it misses us like it did last time. Today is for being lazy and relaxing. I don't know that there's anything better than starting your morning with a cup of coffee and drizzling rain.

Photographed my orchid while it's blooming. I waited too long last time it bloomed and missed my chance.

Good morning CoSo Fam! I took an impromptu work vacay....two whole days of PTO! Today is for My new pear tree arrived yesterday. I have some beans that need to go in the ground. My replacement okra needs to go into the seedling cups. So much to do! But first...

@PlanettePMary I installed the second app shown in your screenshot. It's working fine.

@JoyfullyDazed We need the rain but I could definitely do without the wind and hail. I feel like the winds have been brutal this spring.

Good day lovelies. Happy hump day! Work laptop is successfully switched out; it only took 9 hours of data transfer and software installs. is going in. Rain with gusty winds and small hail is possible this afternoon - my poor . My new pear tree arrives tomorrow as does the part to fix my dryer; it might be time to take a couple of days off work since this has been an incredibly unproductive work week anyway.

@XanHart ahhh having a larger flock does make it harder to tell. If she doesn't have mites, she's not stressed, she's not being bullied, and she doesn't look ill... chalk it up to spring molt for now and keep an eye on it to see if it resolves itself in the next few weeks.

@XanHart It's certainly possible and normal for some chickens to molt in spring. Has she stopped or reduced laying? A higher protein diet will help her if she's molting.

@XanHart If she's showing no signs of illness or mites, it could be stress if one of the others in the flock has taken to bullying her, it could also be that she's not eating enough protein, or it could be a recently developed obsession with self plucking although I haven't seen that too often with chickens. In my flock, feather loss is due to the bully hen.

@XanHart Is she acting differently or is it just the feather loss?
