@rokkinbobokkin @Blue_Skyesr_here ...ouch...the problem with nukes is that is assures mutual destruction. My fear is that nuke fallout would end life on the planet as we know it. Not necessarily kill everyone/thing but surely tip the system past any possible recovery & force the fall of...everything. All while the militaries of every militarized country do everything they can to destroy each other...I'd hope that there's another way...but I'm not optimistic...

No. It used to be mutually assured destruction (MAD). Technology in missile destruction has come a long way.
This is why he hasn't pressed the button so far. He knows it is a game over, for him alone.

I have some insight, but i don't see everything. there's some high-speed tech out there, but the resulting fallout-even on a precision munition is still going to get picked up & distributed over a large area. i'd also bet there's a bit more complexity to the equation than just taking putin out. i'm not as connected as i used to be...

No. Not a counter strike that way.
Putin waves the nuke threat around like a person holding a hostage in a crime.
However, as we know from Israel's Iron Dome, anti-missile tech has come a long way in 50 years and our gov keeps mum.
If Putin fires one, he might pull it off, but after that, several NATO air forces will be activated 24-7, and the kid gloves come off super fast.
War becomes a given, and Russia has no capable defense at that point.

The point is, in this hypothetical hostage situation, if Putin pulls the trigger, he no longer has a shield to protect him.

@rokkinbobokkin @Blue_Skyesr_here ...what i'm suggesting is-he doesn't really have one now...pulling the trigger sets the entire world on fire...this war & the resulting mil responses fm russia/ukraine plus all the other countries helping out (bless them) are creating a dramatic impact on the planet (if we stop taking into account the crushing impact on human life in russia/ukraine rn). i guess that's my point-it's not just local to that geo area. it's already global.

He keeps not following through on his threats because my points are very valid. The threat is all he has, and there's a reason why Biden and NATO/EU leaders don't treat him like he's super scary.
As long as he's buried in Ukraine, he cannot do fuck all anywhere else because Russia no longer has the demographics to do it.

@rokkinbobokkin @Blue_Skyesr_here @rokkinbobokkin i didn't mean to imply your points aren't valid-they are spot on. i'm trying to look at the situation from from a 50K foot perspective...i think at this point it's no longer "just" russian & ukraine-so anything that happens (world supply of wheat as example) has impacts felt literally around the world.

@FayreLylith @rokkinbobokkin It definitely impacts all the corners of the world, I was listening to the news and they were talking about how Russia has been blocking exports from Odesa...for like 3 months now.

Unfortunately, I don't have money to contribute to Ukraine either...

For a while ppl were buying time in Ukrainian AirB&Bs of ppl close to the fighting-as an easy way to get money into the hands of folks trying to escape the fighting. Not sure if that's still happening tho. I'm sure there's other stuff going on.

I have more skin than money to spend. Besides, resources aren't the most thing they need now. Flooded with foreign aide to keep Russia busy losing in Ukraine to wear them down.
They need people. That's what it looks like to me anyway.
