School did indeed start today!

Daughter is already off, for an early start to attend Senior Sunrise. She drove herself. In my car. Lil nervous about the high school parking lot, but hopefully she'll be okay.

Will I relax at all today? Probably not till she gets home. lol #School

So, the email we received yesterday from the district said school would "tentatively" start tomorrow, as long as the teachers voted "yes" on the contract.

It's after 2pm, and there's been no word either way. I'm starting to wonder if that's a bad sign? 😬

Well, school is tentatively set to start tomorrow, as long as they vote yes on the contract today.

If it happens, only one day lost really isn't so bad, if the teachers are happy (ish?) with their new contracts. #School

@KazzyH I agree 100%! It's a really tough situation all around.

And there we have it! The start of the school year is postponed until further notice.

*sigh* The teachers absolutely deserve everything they are asking for, I just don't know how the district will give it to them.

Fingers crossed it's only a day or two. Much more than that, will really disrupt the rest of the year.....

@KazzyH Doesn't seem like it. They've let go over 100 staff, gutted extra curricular activities. My daughter isn't doing theater her senior year, because there is no theater program/department now. It's terrible.

@KazzyH No! The teachers are going to strike! They want more pay, smaller classroom sizes, better working conditions...ect. They deserve it all, but we had a levy fail earlier this year, so the district is short like, $15million bucks. SMH I don't see it ending well, sadly.

I need, like, $2,500 of "disposable" monies to finish this bathroom. Eehhh, maybe more like $3,000, so I can replace the toilet too. Can I get old school toilets? Like, Victorian era kinda style? Probably going too far, huh? I don't think I could get hubbs to get on board with that one..lol

Went out to the woods to look for tracks, after last nights eye shine incident.

Just saw some bright eyeshine in the woods on our property. Two sets.

The obvious answer is, deer. We get them on the property a ton.

Husband insists it's black bears. 🙄 It's not black bears.

I say it's Bigfoot. Pretty sure I'm correct on this.

The last 4 years have left me feel like I am crawling across the finish line, getting all 3 kids through high school. It's been tough! I am dragging us all, limping, to that end....

Less than a week before school starts, and I get an email saying the teachers may strike and the beginning of the school year may be delayed. We were also told to "make alternative arrangements" in case it's delayed. Like what? Send my kid to another school in another district? Dafuq?
