@teengee @Rocker That was my thought too. I lived in a very old upscale apartment building in SF for a while. It was basically a studio apt with a separate kitchen and bath. We had a Murphy bed which was perfect for such a small space. Place was beautiful with stained glass transoms and hardwood floors. Kitchen had no dishwasher but had gas stove and a trash chute (very convenient on 3rd floor), bathtub was a clawfoot. Elevator was cage style. Was $1800 a month in 1978, probably $6k a month now.

@CommonSenseGent @Museek Repugnicans put us on this path decades ago & despite being the minority party in terms of numbers continued to gain power a fair amount of which can be attributed to Dems not voting in the numbers needed to stop them. Dems didn't consider the possible SCOTUS appointments when deciding whether it was important to vote but Repugnicans did which gave us this extreme SCOTUS. I just hope enough Dems finally get that they must vote while we still can or the US is toast!

It slays me when people, even some Dems, want to canonize Reagan when "Reaganomics" put us on this path of outsourcing manufacturing & jobs, making us reliant on one of our biggest adversaries for almost every product we use. Under Trump's awful reign when he added high tariffs on our ag exports & farmers across the US lost their farms one of the biggest purchasers of said farms were Chinese corps! We've allowed our adversaries to control part of our food supply!

@Dashdrum My 86 yo mom would curse me if I did that 😄 She just got rid of Dish after they pulled some super shady stuff & she couldn't understand/adjust to the new equipment they tried to lock her into a contract with. She's reached the age & memory loss stage where any tech that's new to her will never be learned. Got her a new cell phone for her BD because TMobile pulled some shady stuff & her phone, despite being 4G, wasn't getting signal at home. She can still find her spider solitaire tho 😆

@b4cks4w Yeah I have to rinse and change out the water in our 3 raccoon water tubs every couple of days to prevent mosquitoes from hatching and besides that the raccoons drink from/rinse food in/bathe in the tubs so they get really foul pretty quickly. Our backyard hosts lots of different critters..birds & squirrels during the day, raccoons, opossums, & skunks at night, and ferals day and night. Only critters not welcome are rats but the ferals help keep that population fairly low now. 🙂

@jurban Nods :) have heard good things from others I know who've traveled there about their experience with the local people and, except for lamb and goat, am fairly fond of Mediterranean cuisine so it would likely be an awesome trip. Dang..now am hungry for beef gyros!!

@DJNoneYa Yes, I know Repugnicans want to kill the bill but I thought the whole reason for doing it via reconciliation was to take them out of the equation entirely? It makes no sense that individual portions of the bill require 60 votes when the entire bill only requires 51 to pass. Could Schumer have changed the procedural process at the very beginning to stop their efforts dead in their tracks? Sure seems the last reconciliation went more smoothly. The GQP is absolutely vile 🤬

@TheEyeOfBalor She's still using the "both sides" BS saying extremes on both sides should be ignored & we should meet in the middle. We are not extreme in our views. The claim that we want unlimited rights to abortion right up to full term is effing BS! A woman in her 3rd trimester wouldn't have an abortion for frivolous reasons. Late term abortions are performed due to a high risk to the woman's life or there being something seriously wrong with the fetus, ie; anencephaly. She's a GQP fraud!

@DJNoneYa I'm confused. I thought this was being done through reconciliation meaning nothing any Repugnicans had to say mattered for squat??? Or is this some other legislation??
