Too many people get to age 80 without specific training in how to teach effectively. It ought to be integrated throughout our educational system, as the best way to learn something is to teach it.
But I hear older people start sentences with "You should" or "You ought to" and I'm hearing the eyeballs attempting not to roll.
People learn much better and more willingly by answering questions instead of being told to absorb advice and facts.
@EileenKCarpenter I agree with you that sermons are not the best way to teach, but, as a former teacher, I also noticed that the young have many unanswered questions and sometimes don't know who and how to ask!
