I’m such a proud mama right now. My autistic son just performed at his school’s spring concert. His pop ensemble performed Creep by Radiohead, and the band decided he should sing. I was so nervous for him. Nervous that he would be too nervous. Nervous because he’s a little different and other kids might make fun of the song choice. He crushed it! Everyone cheered. He sounded great! Everyone was congratulating him. I’m so relieved and super proud. It’s not easy to get up in front of an audience.
