We finally got shave ice today. And yes, it's "shave ice" (not shaved). Not sure why? 🤷‍♂️

Out and about on Kauai today. As always, the roosters and chickens were among us. 😀

If anyone is interested, this is the filter I used.

Holy crap. Check out the difference between an unfiltered photo and one with a Circular Polarizer (CPL) Filter.
Shadows are reduced. You can see much more detail in the cars (1), building halls (2), and plants (3).

Everywhere you look, the colors are richer and more true to life: the vehicles, the plants, palm trees. And *especially* the ocean and sky.

I'm probably using this filter from now on in bright daylight. If there's a down side, I haven't found it yet.

I was experimenting with a variable neutral density (ND) filter today (range from ND2-ND400). The 1st/left image is with no filter. The 2nd/right image is with the filter (ND4? ND8? ... it was on the low end of the ND scale).

Observations: the filter adds some yellow hue to the sky. I don't like this. But it removes some of the 'glare' (note the difference on the plants below the 'Adults Only' sign). The color of the plants "pops" with the filter.

I really like the way this photo turned out. It was about 30 min after sunset (facing east). 1/4 second exposure, f2, 3200 ISO with 35mm lens.
The venue was Sam's Ocean View restaurant in Kapaa.

We did the #Kauai Mountain Float Tubing tour today. I had to rent 'water shoes' for the excursion. They're Crocs!
I'm mortified. 🤣

Fines are perfunctory justice. Technical fouls should be given instead. Those are real deterrents.
