However, changing from "Electronic Shutter" to "Mechanical Shutter" on the camera body seems to do the trick. These two images use the Mechanical Shutter, and the shadowy bands seem to be gone.

I had been using the Electronic Shutter exclusively, because at that setting I could take up to 14 shots per second (as opposed to the Mechanical Shutter, which peaks at 8).

I discovered somewhat by accident that there's a big difference between the "Mechanical Shutter" and the "Electronic Shutter" on the FujiFilm X-E3.

I'd been encountering 'shadow bands' (pictured) under certain indoor lighting conditions.

Previous attempts to try to avoid the shadows didn't succeed (different apertures, shutter speeds, ISO, filters, etc.)

Google's server-side scripting language for Blogger/Blogspot has IF and ELSE statements, as programming languages are wont to have. But I couldn't find IFELSE as a single statement.

So I had to close off a bazillion IF statements (pictured). Gross.

I finally got a shot of this elusive bird. I'm not a birder, but it's gotta be a 'spoonbill' of some sort, I'd imagine.
Its pink color didn't come through so well from a distance. /shrug

There's a dead pine tree in my neighborhood that I always stop to look at as I'm walking by. I haven't found the right composition for a shot that makes it look as interesting as it is in person. 😐 📷
