@Darnell It's as good a theory as any but I disagree.

Even before it was damaged during the Kherson counter offensive last year that dam required intensive 24/7 supervision and maintenance by skilled technicians.

The Russians made no attempt to lower the flood gates for the annual Spring rising of the river, they just let the water spill over the top of the dam for weeks (seen on video as recently as last week). This ate away at the bottom of the support piers until they collapsed.

People keep on wanting to rank cultures on a scale of better to worse. They want reassurance that they're in one of the "good" (advanced, progressive, ancient, conservative, complex, simple, etc.) cultures and somebody else is in a worse one.

But it doesn't work like that. There aren't better or worse cultures, any more than there are better or worse languages or better or worse alphabets. They're just different styles of being human.

In my limited time on Earth, there has not been a slow news day since 9/11. Or maybe there has been a few, but it seems as if everyday 🇺🇸 was experiencing drama—politically, internationally, economically, etcetera.

I thought 2016 was terrifying when was elected president. I was shocked to see the embrace nationalism & the party flirt with anarchism.

But #2024 is going to determine the fate of the 🇺🇸, especially if (gulp) is the nominee. 😱
