Which makes me wonder if Bertie Wooster's last name was actually "Worcester".
@Cosmichomicide This was really important in WW2. German spies with otherwise excellent English really struggled to pronounce them and it occasionally blew their cover. There are others like "Menzies" which is pronounced "Mingis".
I have a friend whose surname is St. John. He gave up correcting years ago, LOL!

I cannot tell you how many reading words (you know, the ones you only see in books) I've completely bungled the pronunciation of when encountered in the wild.
For years I thought "debris" was "DEB-riss". Sigh.
In acquiring this factiod, I forced out some useful tidbit that I will probably need after the apocalypse. Dammit.
