Does he seriously think I'm going to watch it and throw my hands up and declare "Gosh, I should really rethink my LGBTQ views".

I think I would have to cut off all contact with him. Family, or not. That decision is totally up to you of course.
@IrisDallen I've substantially reduced contact. Unfortunately he lives with my father and Grandfather (who has dementia), having moved from London to the US where he drank-in the republican BS and found god, now moved down to Wales. Family now sees a lot less of me as a result, but I don't need this shit in my life - and in my home town.
@Clavius_42 I am so sorry. Both my parents passed (years ago) and I have little contact with my siblings. Partly because of politics, but mostly because our family was always dysfunctional. As my sister put it, undiagnosed mental illness gallops in our family. I have no contact with her at all.
