Mom's 1st preg in the 1950s ended in miscarriage. She wasn't able to expel everything. She got a DNC no problem. She didn't have to worry about sepsis. She was able to go on and have 5 kids.
HER mother, already the mother of many, needed a medically necessary abortion. The doctor told her without it she'd die and she needed to have it so she can live for her kids. She didn't want to do it, but she did. After she recovered from her medical emergency, she went on to have a bunch more.

I was fortunate in pregnancies and childbirth. I suffered one miscarriage, but early in, before I ever knew I was pregnant. No physical complications.
My mother. My sister, and my dtr, all have suffered second trimester miscarriages, my dtr twice. Each time resulted in surgery for them each. My mother pre RvW, my sister and dtr, during. My dtr nearly bled to death each time. And the second time she had to drive an hour away after a few days before she could have it. So-

He waited?? Was he just trying to be sure? My mom went to the ER and they handled it there and sent her home.
Mom's sister miscarried twins in the toilet (she didn't know that was going to happen). Heartbroken. Horrified.

At that time, she wasn't bleeding profusely. They wanted to send her home to allow it to occur naturally. The first time she hemorrhaged and they did emergency surgery. So when they wanted her to labor, she was left to scramble and anticipate another hemorrhage, until she could find someone willing to do the surgery.
I had your moms sisters scenario. Not twins though.
That's obscene, especially considering she hemorrhaged once already. 😡
WHY are we expected to suffer just because it's something related to pregnancy/childbirth? Whether it's being told "real" women don't get epidurals or that we need to be half dead before they'll remove the literally dead fetus from us. It's cruel. (Yeah, remnants of religious bs.)
I know everyone is different. Some would want to hold it. But, no, it's not for all of us. Not for me.
Absolutely should not be pushed. Make it an option and drop it.

It's INSANE the hoops we have to jump through. I'm glad they all made it through. This is not something the government should be making more difficult.
