I have had the least stressful Christmas this year thus far. And when it's over in two days, I won't have a weeks worth of work undecorating, etc.
Focusing on those closest to me and spending time with them. Hope everybody has the holidays they desire. ❤️💚

No doubt! I have retired from creating Christmas's extravaganzas. No longer up to me to make all the Christmas magic.
@CinnamonGirlE Who did that to us in the first place? It's not healthy! It was done to our mothers, too, and probably their mothers before them... but I remember my grandmothers being relatively relaxed about Christmas.
Somewhere along the line people got carried away and forgot it is supposed to be fun and loving.

It picked up steam somewhere when my kids were little and I just completely went over the edge. Now my kids are grown and grands half grown. I don't have to be Mrs. Claus.
Moving back towards what really matters.
@CinnamonGirlE yes, me too! This seems to be happening at a collective level. Simplify. Purge. Rest. (Which is my 2024 intention - build more rest into my life.)

Good morning & I'm right there with you. It's been a most wonderful Christmas season with absolutely no stress.
Decorations have been minimal w/only those things that are old, nostalgic & bring me joy. I've been finished with any gifts I was going to give for a month. My time is spent with my family not in the kitchen, unless it's together having fun. The torch has passed for all the things that make it more than just being with family & love. That's all that really matters.

Ditto to all of the comments here. We did very simple decorating this year, and our first grandchild is teaching us how to be joyful with simplicity. You can't make joy, peace and love happen. It happens when you relax and let it be.
