If someone comes at you negatively, telling you what they don't like about the way you look, act, talk, think, and then starts suggesting ways that you could change to meet their standards–back away and get out. This is not a person whose approval you need to be cultivating.

This scenario includes but is my no means limited to romantic situations. It could be friendships, work relationships, educational settings, casual interactions on line. Whatever it is, it's wrong.
