I suppose it's a testament to my Catholic school education that I paid attention in History classes & remember what was taught us. I also listened to my elders & the stories they told us of their war experiences, when they spoke of them. Scary stuff, that.

@Shenango_Linda I had family die in that war and others who survived including my Dad. I never had any question of what they fought for and I hope to teach my grandchildren the weight of that responsibility.
