@quinnsentialOne @princesscarolyn (I mean, they're crap in their own way, but better than absolute shit). Montreal has a progressivist government. Which is niceish.
@quinnsentialOne @princesscarolyn oh heaps more. Basically it used to be that our entire political spectrum would fit within the Democrats. Nowadays we've got folks who'd fit nicely into the R category. Provincially, at least for Quebec, there is at least one genuinely lefty party, sot that's nice.
@quinnsentialOne @princesscarolyn yeah. Basically our parties now range from "oh jeez, how did that work out down south" to "Center left, if we really have to be". The green party was once described as "conservatives who like pot and recycling" The Bloc Quebecois was left, but is now.. erm.. I'm trying to translate.. ethnic nationalists I guess. It's not great. So you vote for the center left or centrist party and feel sad.
@quinnsentialOne @princesscarolyn There are also some very tasteful Antifa t-shirts as well as some progress flags. You'll find those in your complementary giftbag. Also, joking aside. I'm sorry. I've been lucky, my parents were/are both Red Tories, and as the Canadian Conservative Party has drifted every loonier/rightward, my Dad says he didn't leave the party, it left him.
@quinnsentialOne @princesscarolyn It is my understanding that there is a finders fee for whoever got you to switch sides, and a bonus for you.
@Zooter but you reaction proves there is a market.
@Zooter But there isn't one.. and that makes me super sad.
If someone else came along and said "hi, we're the not FIFA and we're going to make a new football association. Our plan, basically the opposite of everything those fascist, money grubbing shits do" I would watch anything they sponsored. Toddlers vs puppies indoor footie? SOLD! 5th tier football where every team member is like a high school teacher or taxi driver? YES PLEASE! Anything to be rid of these corrupt fucks.

Because holy shit it's a mess. We have the most police per capita of any city in Canada. Around 70% of us don't trust them. A high percentage of us (this is sort of a self-selected sample so I won't pretend it's a perfect number) want to defund/or at least look at reallocating their money. Something like 70%+ of the police don't live in the City they police. And the Brotherhood of police men and women (no, I"m not kidding) seems to run the show.
@singlemaltgirl indeed.
