shit... i met billy graham back in the old days... and he was very impressive & "humble". all these years i thought he would've hated what happened to his ministry when he died.
i NEVER knew about NIXON. This article is devastating. On top of this, I loved Pope Francis when he first took over- he was so different, seemed to be a Pope of the People... but NOOOOOO- now he's been taken over by the militant old school Rome.

i think i used to have a hard candy shell of IDEALISM in my younger days...it's worn right off... now I keep my idealism in a special place in my heart where it's protected from the Real World.

As a jaded Gen Xer I’ve chalked Trump up to a culmination of (perceived) very American mindsets — snake oil salesmen, evangelical credulity, and violent greed worship. Sinclair Lewis on steroids, if you will…
My idealism was never there; we had fallouts from Watergate and Vietnam and Iran-Contra to deal with. And etc as GOP bullshit increased…
That said, there were positives like Bubba and Obama so all was/is not lost…
