@feloneouscat It's not really about passing laws trying to enforce regulations on UFOs. What both Democrats and Republicans are pushing for on this issue is greater transparency from the government holding the DoD to stricter fiscal responsibility, as well opening channels for people to make reports to congress and the public, without being harassed and stigmatized.

I have tried to remain neutral since Grusch's interview first aired, calling it like I see it. I believe today's hearing will possibly be neither a "nothing burger" as skeptics claim nor the "second coming" some believers are hyping it up to be, but may lead to more happening with a future hearing or future legislation, such as Senate Majority Leader Chuch Schumer's amendment to the NDAA.

@feloneouscat I don't think any body at this stage can say what definitely will or will not come out of this situation.

Never heard any military or civilian pilots complain that they felt Big Foot or pyramids in Egypt pose an occupational threat to them.

UFOs exist, there's no question about that, their nature, however isn't certain. UFO is often equated with ETs, but UFO does not necessarily mean alien, it could be the tech of a foreign nation, or something we ourselves are developing

@Alfred Imagine a sentient AI took over the world and vanquished all of humanity, and as soon as it achieved this the world was faced with an alien invasion.
Who do you think would win in this war, the aliens or the sentient AI?

I have yet to hear anything from Catholics on this issue, but they should fare as the mainline Protestants. However this will probably be quite detrimental to fundamentalist Christian groups (likely fundamentalist Islamic and Jewish groups as well), but not even then it is not a sure thing.

I would be quite interested to see how UFO religions react to this situation.

One of the names for God in Islam is Rabbil Alamin (The Lord of all of the Worlds) and it is believed that God in Islam created at least one to three more intelligent races of beings in addition to humans. Also it is believed that there were countless other Adams created before the Adam in Genesis/The Quran.
In regards to Christianity, I think mainline protestants will be fine. Eastern Orthodox Christians already have accepted the existence of aliens, claiming they are demons.

The Dharmic religions (Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Shiekism) and Taoistic religions (Confucianism, Taoism, and Shintoism) will likely not be affected by it, those tend to be very accommodating religions in regards to this. Traditional Judaism and Islam will probably fare quite well too, as both don't deny the possibility of the existence of other life out there.

Religion and Alien Disclosure: My Thoughts.

Some seem to believe that disclosure on the existence of Non Human Intelligence/aliens/ETs (should such a thing ever happen) would spell the end of religion. I personally disagree with this.

To be sure this would be detrimental to some religions, or rather sects or forms of religion, but definitely not all.
