I've got the benefit of distance, but I have friends in the US that I'm afraid for. I'm stressed and sad and disappointed and furious.

There's nothing I can do - the feeling of helplessness is overwhelming. It's affecting everything, including my health.

I try to distract myself, keep busy, but it's like after a death. You're watching a cute cat video, having a laugh and then suddenly it's like a punch in the heart when reality hits. In January that MFer is back in office.
