Stephen King hasn't actually left. It must be pure orneriness, because I can't imagine there's much there for him.
It's an alternative, but really quite different. It's about interaction with other people, not promoting oneself or counting followers. Join conversations, start following people, find a group you fit with.
But also feel free to mute people you just aren't as interested in. You can't read every post. It's not an insult, it's just "using the tools."
Welcome! Look for any interesting posts on the Firehose and jump in. (It's easier to grok the layout if you start out using it in a regular computer browser.) Start to follow people whose posts you find interesting, so there will develop a My friends column of things you're most interested in seeing. It's not about how many followers you have or how many people like or boost -- everyone sees every post, by default.
So weird because it's not that long ago that the only squirrels on the east coast were pets, and they weren't considered capable of fending for themselves in the wild in an urban environment.
When a department is infiltrated by sociopaths, they drive out the decent cops. They'll backstab anyone who doesn't play by their rules. A larger department is more likely to attract people who are going into police work because they are attracted to the idea of busting people's heads.
Countdown to the first Onion piece on the Infowars site that gets mistaken for Alex Jones' stuff and passed around as Truth by conspiracy theorists who didn't get the memo.
If your goal is to steal stuff, you don't want anyone watching the store who has any idea what the store sells.
I saw an article that Trump's plan to scrap the green programs in the Inflation Reduction Act are likely to be opposed by Republicans, since the vast majority of the money has gone to rural wind an southern solar projects in red districts.
Most people have problems because they don't realize the button to save changes is way down the page -- you have to scroll to get to it.
You can't force the Trump administration to cooperate with fighting global warning.
But if your area has a utility choice that is 100% wind/solar, you can choose it. It may cost more (though depending on the world political situation, sometimes they cost less).
If there is high demand for green energy and low demand for fossil fuels, no one will be investing their money in drill-baby-drill projects. They'll be adding increased capacity for green energy, because that's where the profit will be.
@GreenCheese
Nah, "everybody has one sad eye and one happy eye."
The head of the DOJ doesn't have to be a smart lawyer. He just has to not make all the smart lawyers resign, which is what tends to happen under Trump.
When those people go into private industry, you don't get them back.
My account was frozen for a while because I wouldn't provide a phone number. It got unlocked accidentally when Musk took over. I'm hesitant to rock the boat. I'm not going to provide them a phone number to create a new account to kill my old one.
there is hope...sort of.

He's there to do a job. Even though the Trump administration refused to assist with the transition to Biden, it's in the interest of the country that the transition be smooth.
I wonder what @DrJackBrown thinks of the body language, though. Seems like it's a picture of Biden and his wife and Trump tried to get into the photo.
