One of the things that are dividing people in the US and many other countries is that the different political adherents do not respect one another as people. At all. It is the "contempt" that kills relationships on a small scale, but boosted up on steroids, since most of us have stopped even talking to one another since Trump and QAnon began destroying family holiday meals.
And just to get the ball rolling for finding something to respect about voters in Red States, these are the course requirements at Texas A&M ("A" as in agriculture) for a bachelor's in Agricultural Economics, Rural Entrepreneurship Option. Yes, farmers have to be educated to be competitive in the 21st century:
We can't control the fact that Trump supporters have contempt for liberals. But we can try not to make things worse by demonstrating contempt for them, even if we need to point out that *particular positions* they are supporting are contempt-worthy.
Words like "redneck," "flyover state" and even "racist" give them permission to close their minds to anything else they hear.
